Charming Observations and I hope Advice

Favorite Hair Conditioners

Sorry I haven’t written in the past few days. Work has been very busy and I’m trying to take advantage of the weather. Rains have been prevalent lately. I wanted to blog about my favorite conditioners for hair. I’m a real fan of the Sunsilk line especially the Hydra TLC which I’ve been using a lot. It leaves my hair smooth and lightly scented. I also really love Pantene shampoos and conditioners. I’m a regular user of their Smooth and Sleek collection and the Beautiful Lengths collection. Pantene Time Renewal Restoratives Intensive treatments are great deep conditioners. I still haven’t tried their Texturize Collection but am looking forward to it now that summer is coming. I used to have a all time favorite. Clairol Deep Conditioner. Unfortunately, I think it’s discontinued. I’ll have to check out the website for discontinued products. Well, that’s all for now.

Nail Polish Shopping

nailpolishSo I was at the shops recently and picked up some really nice colors of nail varnish. All reasonably priced. I also bought a new manicure/pedicure set of tools which are great. Here’s my list of goodies. Sally Hanson has some great Insta-Dri polishes. I bought the Blue Streak and Expresso. The Blue Streak is shimmery and Expresso is a wonderful subtle mauvy brown. I found 2 great shades of Revlon’s nail enamel in Midnight Affair and Bewitching Bordeaux. Revlon is great in their products. Their colors usually look great on everyone. I love them all and I’m looking forward to getting more this summer.

Book Reviews and Classic Movie Sundays

Openbk1I’m going to be finishing up “The Reader” sometime today. Sundays are wonderful for relaxing. I got all my household stuff done yesterday and the work week was busy but doesn’t start up again until Tuesday because of the holiday. So I wanted to review books I have already read and loved. “A Thousand Splendid Suns” was heartbreaking but definitely worth the read. It really makes you understand the difficulties of being a woman in different parts of the world. It’s the kind of book you want to talk to others about, just to get their ideas and reactions. I look forward to another by Khaled Hosseini. I read the V.C. Andrews book “Delia’s Crossing” and was impressed. It had been a long time since I’d picked up a V.C. Andrews novel but was happy I did. It’s about a young woman’s new life in California after crossing over from Mexico and becoming part of her rich aunt’s family. Pick these up and give them a try.
HIBISCUSClassic movies are something else I favor. “Dishonored Lady” starring Hedy Lamarr is wonderful. It’s about a successful magazine editor who gives up everything to become an unknown artist and is accused of a crime she didn’t commit.Other favorites of mine is “Mildred Pierce”, “Alice Adams” and “Casablanca”. Check these out if you can.

The Softer Side of a Beautiful Life

N42I love lotions. I wanted to try something new for a change and found a new favorite. Olay Body Quench lotion with active hydration. It’s amazing. It smells so good and easily absorbs into your skin leaving it wonderfully soft and moisturized. It has green tea and vitamin complex. It is perfect to use anytime but best right after a shower. I’m also a fan of Cocoa Butter lotions. FLOW11Some are more concentrated then others but they are great for scar marks and actually helps with evening out skin tone. Finally, one product I used to really love but can’t find anymore is Aveeno’s Correcting Treatment. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this product. It came in a tube and was perfect for acne treatment and for erasing acne scars. If anyone sees this at their local pharmacies, let me know so maybe i can find it again. Well friends, enjoy your Saturday!

A small, happy haul

watercolorboxwithlidToday I bought two new LA Colors items from the shops. I purchased an Expressions lip gloss in Dreamy Pink which is the loveliest candy pink you’ll ever see. It’s shimmery like little diamonds on your lips. I also got a three in one lipstick, blush and eyeshadow in Pink Satin. I’m obviously going through a pink phase. But I can’t help it, a girl should feel girly when she can and have no apologies for it. I also got a Strawberry Swirl bath salts for when I need tension taming. I can’t wait to try these. The great thing is that I only paid about $4.00 for everything. My wallet was very happy and so am I. If you have a chance, read my new article on ehow on how to live happy on less. l

Moisturize your skin soft

SMELLINGMoisturizer is very important for your skin because it helps to hydrate but you have to do other things to help your skin and look your best too. Moisturizer helps but you also have to try to eat right, get enough rest and drink your water to hydrate naturally. Doing these things will help you get a luminous face. Use a good moisturizer during the day with spf if you plan on spending time outdoors. And make sure you use it on overcast days because the sun’s rays are always present. Try a lighter night cream at night. Nothing feels worse then wearing something heavy at night. And get in the habit of using an eye cream. You’ll be happy you did in a few years time.

A Sweet Day in the Life

FLOW14Today was very busy and I’m pretty tired but I wanted to talk about favorite scents. One of my all time favorites is the classic Chanel No.5. It’s so sophisticated and so memorable without being overpowering. I also love Lancome’s Tresor. It’s so beautiful and the design bottle is lovely on your dressing table. I guess scents tell something about the personality of those wearing them. I hope it says I’m beautiful, classic and unforgettable. Do you have any great scents to recommend? Comment below and let us know.FLOW14

Purchases without Guilt

LipstickI just got home from a little frugal shopping. I found some great things at the shops. I purchased a Physician Formula Color Eyes Cream Eye Shadow Stick in Champagne. It’s a really beautiful beige. It’s silky smooth and hypoallergenic. I also bought a small eyeshadow palate from LA Colors. It has a whole bunch of pastel colors. I also bought Maybelline Mineral Power powder foundation which i LOVE, LOVE so much. Finally, I bought a Burt’s Bees Lip Balm that I’ve been wanting to try. The whole point of my shopping excursion was to buy a brush holder and cosmetic bag. But no guilt here because I didn’t spend a lot. Here’s my latest article on ehow. Check it out.

New Favorites

Hi everyone. Well I wanted to tell you of my new favorites. I told you about the great mint mask yesterday. Today, I want to tell you about great products from Clean and Clear and Neutrogena. I am so loving Clean and Clear’s Acne cleansers. I started using their Continuous Control Acne cleanser and my skin has completely cleared up. I alternate with their Morning Burst cleanser. So I’m definitely going to keep both in my regular skincare regimen.
Summer is almost here and one should definitely use sunscreen. I’m outdoors a lot for work and my favorite sunblock is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch. It absorbs quickly and really leaves a flawless matte finish. It has an SPF of 55. They have newer ones out on the market with an SPF of 100. Anyone have any recommendations for me? I would love to hear about them.
